Sunday mornings can go at a fast and furious pace. If we aren’t strategic, we can miss key relational connections. Gather your team of volunteers for a brief gathering before the serving begins. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion before praying for the day:
These religious leaders – the ones who should have extended love and hope – despised and rejected her. They threw her at Jesus’ feet and demanded that he make her pay for her wrongs. But Jesus wasn’t falling for their trap. He knew that no one in that crowd of accusers had the right to judge. Only God can do that. While much of the nuance of this story will be lost on your preschoolers, they can hear the central truth that Jesus loves us even when others don’t. What a promise! As you prepare for this week, ask God to help you see just how much you are loved, even if you feel unworthy. Ask him to help you share this with your preschoolers too. Because Jesus loves everyone.
As your leaders prepare to leave, ask them the key question and say the bottom line together.
