When you read the Christmas story, do you ever find yourself glossing over some of the events and their significance with an “Oh I’ve already read that” sort of indifference? When that happens, I stop and imagine myself in the shoes of the person I’m reading about. In this case, it’s a young girl with her whole life ahead of her. A girl with dreams and plans, probably with some idea of how her life would go. Imagine a normal daily routine suddenly interrupted by an ANGEL sent by the God of all creation with a special message just for you! This message, this news, was life altering BIG. The angel assured her that this was God’s plan. God sent Jesus to Mary because of his love for her. That’s the real message of the Christmas story – love came down to dwell among us. Heaven came to earth. How do we know God loves us? Because [Bottom Line] God gave us Jesus.
