Social Media Plan for Reaching Parents Starting December 22, 2019

Here is the First Look Social Media Plan for influencing parents to interact with their preschoolers. If you missed the first post explaining our plan, please click here. The following information will be 7 tweets/Facebook posts, 2 pictures or ideas for Instagram, and 2 articles to pin on Pinterest.  Feel free to use any and all of this information but don’t feel tied to these updates word for word.  These are simply examples that you could copy and paste if you wanted or you can add your own personality.  These posts should start going out on Sunday, December 22, 2019. This is considered week four of the December curriculum. If you have any questions, suggestions, or even content that other people could use to help influence parents for this week then please leave your comments below the post.

Facebook and Twitter:
Sunday: Christmas is all about Jesus’ birthday. Happy birthday, Jesus! Watch today’s video on the App https://bit.ly/2ijFJc6

Monday: Pull out the construction paper, stickers, and markers. It’s time to make Jesus a birthday card! Dot the letters “JESUS” for your child to trace. Encourage them to use the supplies provided to make a special card to show Jesus how special He is.

Tuesday: Christmas this year might look different than what you imagined. An over-romanticized view of Christmas can get in the way of having meaningful time together. https://theparentcue.org/a-realistic-christmas-picture/

Wednesday: Use shaving cream or tub crayons. Draw a birthday cake with candles. Sing “Happy Birthday” to Jesus. When it’s time to blow the candles out, tell your child to blow while you wipe them off. Draw more candles and sing again. It’s Jesus’ birthday!

Thursday:  Amid all the gift choices you’ve made for your child, these are the ones that will matter the most: https://theparentcue.org/best-of-parent-cue-live-six-gifts-every-kid-needs/

Friday: As you drive, talk about the Christmas story. An angel told Mary she would have a special baby. Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem. Jesus was born. Angels told shepherds about Jesus. Wise men followed a special star to Jesus and worshipped Him.

Saturday: Cuddle and pray, “Dear God, help us have the courage to tell others how special Jesus is, like the shepherds did after they saw baby Jesus. We want everyone to know that Christmas is all about Jesus’ birthday! We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
