Sunday mornings are like game day for children’s ministry. Just like any good coach, gather your team of volunteers for a pre-game pep talk. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion to kick the morning off:
Joseph stood before the most powerful man in Egypt to interpret his dreams. Talk about pressure! But Joseph was quick to turn to God and ask for help. When the pressure is on, do you take matters into your own hands or do you ask God for help? This week, we’re going to talk about what “pressure” looks like for a kid. Maybe it’s pressure to fit in. Or pressure to perform. Or pressure to stand up and do the right thing when no one else is choosing what’s wise. The key is not to lean on our own understanding–because what we see is so limited–but to trust God with ALL our hearts. When the pressure is on, you can trust that God is with you.
