Sunday mornings are like game day for children’s ministry. Just like any good coach, gather your team of volunteers for a pre-game pep talk. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion to kick the morning off:
Fear. We let it get the best of us sometimes. And sometimes, we let other people’s fears control us too. But we don’t have to. Just like Joshua and Caleb, we can stand up and do the right thing even when others are afraid. As you sit with your few this week, think about the kinds of things that cause their peer group to be afraid. Just like Joshua and Caleb, your kids don’t have to give into fear – their own fear or the fears of others. God is bigger and stronger and more powerful than anyone or anything. And He will give them the courage they need to do what is right. [Bottom Line] You can do what you should do even when others are afraid.
