Sunday mornings are like game day for children’s ministry. Just like any good coach, gather your team of volunteers for a pre-game pep talk. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion to kick the morning off:
This week we cover a LOT of ground! From the burning bush, to Moses’ protests, to all the crazy plagues God sent to force Pharaoh’s hand. But the key event in all of this is the scene at the burning bush when Moses throws out all his excuses. Just imagine if he’d allowed all that fear and all the insecurity to stop him from doing what God had called him to do. We certainly wouldn’t be talking about him thousands of years later if Moses had walked away. While we probably won’t be called to face the most powerful ruler in the world, we will need to step out into the unknown and show courage. The good news is, God will not call us to do something on our own. Just as He was with Moses, He will be with us too. You can do what you should even when you don’t feel ready.
