Sunday mornings are like game day for children’s ministry. Just like any good coach, gather your team of volunteers for a pre-game pep talk. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion to kick the morning off:
Raise your hand if you’ve ever prayed for patience? What? Are you crazy? You know that the minute you start praying for that is the minute your patience will really be put through the ringer. Just kidding. Prayer is the best place to start. Because if there’s one thing that doesn’t come naturally, it’s patience! NO one likes to wait. But God wants to grow patience in us. He wants to power up our lives so that we can live differently and show HIS power to the world around us. So the next time you find your patience being tested, remember to ask God through His Spirit to help. He has promised He will and all His promises are “yes!” (2 Corinthians 1:20) [Bottom Line] When you need to wait, ask God for patience.
