Sunday mornings are like game day for children’s ministry. Just like any good coach, gather your team of volunteers for a pre-game pep talk. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion to kick the morning off:
Have you ever tried to work a puzzle without the box lid? It’s hard to see how all those little pieces fit together without the picture to show you what the goal is. As you talk with your kids about obedience this week, remind them that there is a bigger picture. God is in control and He’s placed people in our lives that can help lead and guide us. When we think a rule is silly or unfair, it’s important to remember that we can’t always see the box lid. But God can. In fact, God created us and holds each of our box lids. We can follow God because His plan for us is way better than any plan we could imagine for ourselves. We should trust and obey because there’s a bigger picture.
