Sunday mornings are like game day for children’s ministry. Just like any good coach, gather your team of volunteers for a pre-game pep talk. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion to kick the morning off:
As children grow, as life throws all kinds of crazy at them, they will begin to question their faith more and more. By placing kids in a group with leaders who know and love them, you’ve created a safe place for them to ask questions when they’re unsure. And that’s why the story of Thomas is so important. When Thomas doubted, how did Jesus respond? Did He rebuke him? Did he become angry? No, Jesus stretched out his arms and invited Thomas to touch the scars for himself. We need to make sure our kids know from the very beginning that asking questions is a good thing. You don’t need to have all the answers. Your job is to point them to the one who does. [Bottom Line] Whatever happens, remember God is bigger than your questions.
