Social Media Plan for Elementary Parents starting December 2

Racking your brain for a way to provoke meaningful conversations between parents and their elementary kids in less than 140 characters? Well, rack no more!

Below, you will find everything you need to cue parents this week through every major social media outlet from Twitter to Pinterest (so you can focus your brain power on posting the really important stuff—like that picture you just took of your cat tangled in Christmas lights). And if you missed our first post explaining what all this is, take a second to get up to speed by clicking here!

If Pampers and Goldfish are more your speed, check out our First Look blog for the social media plan to connect parents with preschoolers:

This week we are supplying you with 6 tweets, 3 Facebook posts with Facebook Timeline photos, 2 pictures for Instagram, and 2 articles to pin on Pinterest. Feel free to use these posts however you wish. Want to get a little crazy and swap Monday’s tweet with Wednesday’s? Go right ahead! Feel like posting a different picture to Instagram? We don’t mind! You can simply copy and paste the words below or add a little flare of your own to any and all posts. These posts should start going out on Monday December 2nd and follow this social media plan. If you have any questions, suggestions for content or an exceptionally cute picture of your cat, please share in the comment section below this post. Until next week, Happy Tweeting!

Facebook: Possible Timeline Photos for December:

  • Monday:  What a wonderful reason to have JOY!

  • Thursday: Sometimes life doesn’t go exactly as you had planned and when that happens, you have to find a way to be happy anyway. So what do you do? It’s easy! Bake a delicious pizza and pile it high with frosting, chocolate fudge, marshmallows, cookies, and any other crumble-able candy you happen to have stashed in the house. Sounds strange, you say? Just follow this recipe and it won’t sound as strange as you first thought… you may have even found a way to be happy when life isn’t going your way. Ingredients: Your favorite brownie mix (with listed ingredients), Red Icing, Confectioners Sugar or flakes of white chocolate, Your favorite candy crumbles or sweet toppings, 12-inch Pizza Pan. How To: Prepare the brownie mix as instructed BUT instead of putting the mixture in a boring old square dish, pour it into a lightly greased 12-inch pizza pan! Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes or until the middle of the “pizza” is no longer doughy. Let the pizza cool. Then, spread a layer of “sauce” (red icing) over the top. Sprinkle your “cheese” (confectioners sugar or flakes of white chocolate) over the icing. And top with any and all of your favorite brownie pizza toppings!!
  • Friday:  What is your joy attached to?
