If I Knew Then What I Know Now

“If I knew then what I know now.” How many times have you heard somebody say this phrase? Be honest. How many times have you said this phrase? I say this phrase when I think about my first day of high school, I say this phrase when I think about the day I walked down the aisle and said “I do,” and I say this phrase when I think about the day I took home my firstborn daughter.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 (NIV)
says, “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.”

When I read this Scripture, it opens my eyes to the truth that nothing I have experienced is new; someone has been in my shoes and walked through similar trials. Someone has shared in the same blessings I have. Someone has suffered the same type of hurt I have.

Orange Leaders, someone has already been where you are today. Someone has had a hard time recruiting volunteers. (Did I hear an amen?) Someone has planned an amazing outreach event. Someone has found the most amazing check-in system. Someone found a great deal on bubbles, chalk and goldfish!

On the Orange Parents website, we have an amazing tool that you do not want to miss out on. It’s called Church Finder! Simply type in the name of your city, choose 252 Basics or any of our other curriculums and choose a radius of 10, 25 or 50 miles. Click “Search,” and presto, an entire list of churches that use our curriculum will appear.

As an Orange Specialist I am privileged to talk with gifted and passionate leaders every day! Some have served selflessly in ministry for 20 or more years, and others are brand new and nervous but are determined to see life-change happen in this generation.

Go ahead, pick up the phone and get connected with other Orange Leaders today! Pray for one another. Learn from each other’s experiences. Ask questions. Dream God-sized dreams!

Soon the phrase will be, “I know NOW what they knew then.”
