How to Join the Louisiana Flood Relief Efforts

If you’ve been following the news over the past week or so, you’ve probably seen images of the terrible flooding in Louisiana. The flooding has damaged or destroyed around 40,000 homes, and the relief effort is only just beginning.

While the damage and impact of this flood can be overwhelming, our collective efforts can help the affected communities get back on their feet. Earlier today our Orange Specialists team reached out to one of our partner churches in the area, The Bayou Church in Lafayette, Louisiana. We asked what we could do to help in the relief efforts, and they made us aware of a local non-profit, Love Inc, whose warehouse was flooded during the storm. Instead of replacing their “inventory,” Love Inc has decided to fill their warehouse with building supplies for families who can’t afford to purchase them. These building supplies will be used to repair and rebuild homes in the area.

This is where we come in. We (everyone reading this) have the opportunity to join in the relief efforts by supporting The Bayou Church and Love Inc as they gather supplies and distribute them to families in need. We have the opportunity to purchase supplies to stock their warehouse. To make it easy, they’ve set up an Amazon Wishlist filled with basic items to help their relief and restoration efforts.

Visit their Amazon Wishlist and add items to your cart to make purchases on their behalf. And feel free to pass along their Wishlist link (https://www.amazon.com/registry/giftlist/1MTYCMRDAUCVO) to family, friends, or even your entire congregation to continue supporting the relief efforts.
