High School Crisis Conversation Guides for Parents and SGLs [FREE DOWNLOAD]

As students get older, the potential for them to experience a crisis—from tragedy, bad decisions, rejection, or trauma—also increases.

And with the growing conversation around suicide, mental illness, and even shows like 13 Reasons, it’s becoming even more important for us to support our students and help them navigate any crisis they may be facing.

Whether a student is facing the death of a friend, a parents’ divorce, a failing class grade, or even a bad breakup, understanding how to approach our students is crucial. And our students’ parents and small group leaders are on the front lines of those conversations.

During the month of July, both XP3 Middle School and XP3 High School partners are starting a series called Through The Darkness. This series is designed to help students navigate times of tragedy—in their lives and in the lives of those around them. And while we hope this series is helpful for students as it’s being taught to students, we know that times of tragedy and moments of crisis happen all throughout the year—not just when you’re doing a series about it.

That’s why we’re excited to share two free High School Crisis Conversation Guides—one for parents and one for small group leaders. These guides are designed to be referenced at any time throughout the year. You could email them to parents and SGLs all at once to “put in their back pocket” for when they need it, or share the guides as the need arises.

No matter how you use these guides, we hope that they help you equip and empower your parents and SGLs as they navigate seasons of crisis and tragedy with their students.

These guides were provided by the awesome people over at Weekly. Weekly provides student pastors with tons of downloadable resources to equip you, your students’ parents, and your SGLs. We hope that you’ll check them out for even more valuable resources like the Crisis Conversation Guides. Click the button below and input your email address to have both conversation guides emailed to you.
