Seven Things Your Team Can Get From The Orange Tour
By Rob Cizek

Part of our job as leaders is to stay out in front. We need to keep up with the latest thinking and the best practices happening in other places.

The Orange Tour is a great resource to help you do this for preschool, children’s, student, family ministry and senior church leaders. Our church has received so much value from the Orange Tour that we are now hosting one of the stops. Here’s what you can expect to get out of an Orange experience:

#1. Knowledge: Orange attracts some of the best minds anywhere. They keep us updated on the latest thinking and ministry best practices.

#2. Encouragement: Orange inspires. Orange materials and presentations remind us why we got into ministry and encourage us to be our best. Going to an Orange experience always “fills our tank.”

#3. Three tracks in one conference: The Orange Tour offers great main leadership sessions that are of value to everyone. They also offer specialized tracks for specific ministry roles. This is a great way to gather all the players in our church family ministry together in one place.

#4. Quality: The conference speakers are top-notch presenters with great content.

#5. Team experience: Because the Orange Tour is local you don’t incur huge travel expenses. You can afford to bring your entire team. When you do, there are opportunities to learn together and debrief as a group. Time together in the car and over lunch can be immensely valuable.

#6. Networking: If you’re involved with Orange you’ve got friends. You’ll find hundreds of like-minded churches around the country. On the Orange Tour, you’ll find other local churches who are doing Orange. They can be a great resource throughout the year.

#7. Great value for volunteers: Our volunteers do the work of the church. Yet so often we don’t have a meaningful way to recognize them. Perhaps the greatest value of Orange is the positive effect it has on key volunteers. They see the possibilities and get inspired. They come back encouraged and even more inspired to serve. Because of this we try to bring as many volunteers to Orange Tour as possible.

I’m not one to give my endorsement lightly. But in the case of the Orange Tour, I am happy to do so. Orange is an ongoing blessing for our church. I hope it will be for yours as well. If you come to the Seattle Tour stop, please say hello. I would love to meet you and hear your story.
