When the whole church gets involved

Here’s a story from Jennifer Day, Children’s Pastor at the multi-site Cross Timbers Community Church in Texas. Check out the great things they’re doing for families!

Here at Cross Timbers Community Church, we are gearing up for CT Kids Live, our summer experience for kids hosted on all three of our campuses. Monday through Wednesday, three-year-olds through fifth graders will come to this new experience that includes a live worship band each evening. While our kids enjoy messy games, great worship, and relevant teaching, their parents are offered the opportunity to take a class taught by our CARE Team (our elders) on the Five Love Languages of Children. On Thursday night, our church family will experience our first ever Family Experience, called CT FX. We have purchased meals for each family and put together ice breaker questions for them, and we plan to walk our families through a worship experience, CT Kids style!

What I am most proud of in CT Kids is the fact that so many levels of our church will be involved. Our weekend worship bands lead our kids in worship, many of our United students will work directly with our kids, the CARE Team will lead our family classes, and volunteer teachers and youth pastors will lead the experiences. It is a reflection of our church’s overall commitment to serving not just kids but their families as well.
