Sunday mornings can go at a fast and furious pace. If we aren’t strategic, we can miss key relational connections. Gather your team of volunteers for a brief gathering before the serving begins. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion before praying for the day:
In this story Jesus told, the first two men made a deliberate move to the opposite side of the street. Instead of choosing to stop and extend kindness, they went on about their day as if other priorities were more important. But here’s where this story gets personal. Of the three men who passed by, which one would you be? Do you think about leading with kindness in every interaction or are you so focused on your own agenda and schedule that you miss those opportunities? The good news is, you don’t have to show kindness on your own. Jesus will help you. It can be as simple as a few gentle words, a helping hand or a look of acknowledgment. Let’s choose to let kindness lead as we follow Jesus. And let’s show our preschoolers how to do this by example too. Because kindness is contagious. Who gives you the power to do everything? [Bottom Line] Jesus gives me the power to do everything.
