Sunday mornings can go at a fast and furious pace. If we aren’t strategic, we can miss key relational connections. Gather your team of volunteers for a brief gathering before the serving begins. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion before praying for the day:
Imagine if you’d been one of the disciples. You’d followed Jesus. You’d watched him heal countless hurting people. You’d seen him feed thousands of people with one boy’s lunch, calm a raging storm and walk on water. Yet nothing could prepare you for His final act of love. One that would span the width of his arms, outstretched on a cross, taking on the sin of the whole world, for you. Three long, desperate days of disbelief and sadness. But then, a new day. An empty tomb. A RISEN Savior. Jesus wasn’t dead. He was alive! He’d done what NO one else could do. What a friend we have in Jesus. God sent Jesus to be our friend forever. Who is your friend? [Bottom Line] Jesus is my friend!
