Here is the First Look Social Media Plan for influencing parents to interact with their preschoolers. If you missed the first post explaining our plan, please click here. The following information will be 7 tweets/Facebook posts, 2 pictures or ideas for Instagram, and 2 articles to pin on Pinterest. Feel free to use any and all of this information but don’t feel tied to these updates word for word. These are simply examples that you could copy and paste if you wanted or you can add your own personality. These posts should start going out on Sunday, February 10, 2019. This is considered week two of the February curriculum. If you have any questions, suggestions, or even content that other people could use to help influence parents for this week then please leave your comments below the post.
Facebook and Twitter:
Sunday: In today’s Bible story, Mary and Martha helped show us that spending time with Jesus is more important than anything. Watch the video on the App http://bit.ly/2ijFJc6
Monday: Use socks to make hand puppets. Tell your child to be Jesus and say, “I love you. I want to spend time with you.” You will be Martha with one hand, “I’m too busy. I have work to do,” and Mary with the other hand, “I want to spend time with you too.”
Tuesday: Influence is easy to lose but takes time to build up. Here are five easy ways to lose influence as a parent: https://theparentcue.org/how-to-lose-and-gain-influence-as-a-parent-2/
Wednesday: As you drive, tell your child to look for big things. Each time he/she points out something big, say, “Jesus’ love is bigger than a [name of object]!”
Thursday: Want to help your kids learn to see the needs around them? Participate in “Random Acts of Kindness Day” on February 17th by getting out in the community and doing things that will make someone else’s day brighter.
Friday: Enjoy doing the memory verse hand motions at home with this video: https://vimeo.com/300888701
Saturday: Cuddle up with your child and pray, “Dear God, it’s easy to get busy and forget Jesus just wants to spend time with us because He loves us. Help us to slow down and remember how much Jesus loves us. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
