Social Media Plan for Reaching Parents Starting December 23, 2018

Here is the First Look Social Media Plan for influencing parents to interact with their preschoolers. If you missed the first post explaining our plan, please click here.  The following information will be 7 tweets/Facebook posts, 2 pictures or ideas for Instagram, and 2 articles to pin on Pinterest.  Feel free to use any and all of this information but don’t feel tied to these updates word for word.  These are simply examples that you could copy and paste if you wanted or you can add your own personality.  These posts should start going out on Sunday, December 22, 2018. This is considered week four of the December curriculum. If you have any questions, suggestions, or even content that other people could use to help influence parents for this week then please leave your comments below the post.

Facebook and Twitter:
Sunday: Today’s Bible story was about when God gave us the best gift ever, His only Son, Jesus. Watch the video on the App http://bit.ly/2ijFJc6

Monday: Have a birthday party for Jesus! Invite friends or do the family thing. Whatever you do, don’t forget the cake, party hats, and candles! Imagine the look on Jesus’ face as your little one sings “Happy Birthday” to Him!

Tuesday: As parents, we have opportunities every day to lead the way and model for our children ways to keep the most beautiful parts of Christmas up all year long. https://theparentcue.org/living-out-the-nativity/

Wednesday: Add bubble bath during bath time and help your child make lots of bubbles. Tell your child to make a birthday cake for Jesus with the bubbles. Sing “Happy Birthday” to Jesus, and at the end of the song blow out the candles and watch the bubbles fly!

Thursday:  Spend some time reflecting on Christmas day. What part of the day was the most fun? What was the best thing you ate? Then, encourage your child to tell your the true story of Christmas and/or read a Christmas book together.

Friday:  Each time you drive, tell your child, “Today we are going to travel to (name of place).” Then say, “Where did Mary and Joseph travel? I’ll give you a hint. It’s the place Jesus was born. Yes, they went to Bethlehem.”

Saturday: Cuddle up with your child and pray, “Dear God, thank You that Jesus was born and that He grew up to show us how to love. Help me teach [child’s name] that Jesus is Your Son and He wants to be his/her friend forever. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
