The Bible is better than gold! It teaches us that God loves us all the time. It teaches us that God loves us so much He gave us Jesus to be our friend forever. It teaches us how to live our best life. And, it teaches us how to share our stuff.
The teachings in the Bible are worth more to us—are more valuable in this life—than thousands of pieces of gold and silver. At the end of the day, learning how God, our Creator, wants us to live is worth way more than anything money can buy.
So grab a Bible, and get ready. We’re going on a treasure hunt! We want to begin to uncover some nuggets of truth and set our preschoolers on a lifelong search for treasure—the kind of treasure that is better than gold.
The Welcome Center and Hallway
We’re going on a Treasure Hunt! Yes, we’re looking for gold this month. Actually, we’re looking for something better than gold – the Bible. We’ve given you several art pieces to help decorate your space including a treasure chest and Bible to go in it.
Use gold and silver paper plates to represent gold and silver pieces. They can flow all over your space. Create treasure maps on butcher paper leading preschoolers to the greatest treasure, the Bible.
Cover your welcome table with a white tablecloth and draw a treasure map on it with marker or black tape. Add mason jars filled with fake gold and jewels to be your pen holders.
Visit the August 2019 Treasure Hunt board on Pinterest for more ideas on decorating your environments!
Make a treasure chest or purchase one online. Fill it with gold and silver coins made from paper plates and jewels. Don’t forget to add the Bible!
