Setting the Stage – The Great Adventure (October 2016)

Let’s go on The Great Adventure!

This month we will be decorating our environments with items that we would use or encounter on a hiking or camping trip. You could use maps, tents, tissue paper campfires, trees, woodland creatures, and starry night skies to bring this month’s theme into your preschool spaces.

Why not set up a small tent on the stage or in a larger hall corner. Put out an all-call on Facebook for (safe) camping gear that your parents might have sitting in the basement. I bet someone in your church has a hiking backpack that would look great in your storytelling space. Or, how about borrowing multiple sleeping bags and making a fun pyramid with them! There are so many fun and different ways to decorate for this theme.

First Look provides monthly Theme Art as well as Environment Art for your preschool areas in the Monthly Visuals tab on the download matrix. Be sure to download these files to help you prepare your environments for this month’s theme: The Great Adventure.

If you would like to edit or incorporate this month’s theme art in your own designs, the Customizable Art File is available for purchase from the Orange Store or in the Premium Enhancements area of the download matrix.

We’ve gathered additional ideas for your preschool environments on our Pinterest board. Be sure to check them out!

We can’t wait to see what you do this month as you teach preschoolers that: God’s way is perfect.
