This month, we want to cook up a big Recipe For Thanks with our preschoolers! Thinking about the things we’re thankful for is the key to any recipe of thanks—and a thankful heart. We chose Recipe For Thanks as our theme because we want our preschoolers to learn how to have a thankful heart.
As you decorate your halls and rooms, think about all those kitchen shows you watch on TV. What do they have sitting around the kitchen? Bowls? Pans? Oven Mitts? Chefs Hats? Aprons? Visit the dollar store to find all of this and more to decorate with this month.
Use a checkered tablecloth for our Welcome Center this month. And, why not put all your pens some mason jars wrapped with a blue bow? Don’t forget to have your welcome volunteers wear aprons and chef hats!
It’s time to get the play kitchen out of storage and set it up on your stage. If you don’t have one, make different kitchen items out of boxes. Refrigerator boxes make a great looking refrigerators with a little paint and imagination. Be sure to have plenty of kitchen gadgets on hand to add a splash of color.
