Setting the Stage – Gone Fishin’ (March 2018)

This month we’ve GONE FISHIN’! And we can’t wait to see what you and your preschoolers dream up to go with this theme. We’re imagining ponds and fish and little kids running in the room to see what they’re going to get to do next!

It just seems perfect since this month is all about Jesus and how He taught the disciples to be fishers of men. How did they learn to be fishers of men? Well, they followed Jesus! And, we want our preschoolers to know that they can follow Jesus too!

It’s time to grab your fishin’ pole and some fish and get to decorating! Think boats and nets hanging on the wall. Think fish and seaweed hanging from the ceiling. Think buckets with fishing poles and tackle boxes in the hallway corners.

Invite your welcome center volunteers to wear fishing vests and hats decorated with lures (without hooks). Add some blue tissue and foam fish to a clear plastic jar to hold your pens. Drape a net over a blue tablecloth on the welcome table.

Visit the March 2018 Gone Fishin’ board on Pinterest for more ideas on decorating your environments!

Do you have access to a small boat? How about a large net? Add these along with fishing poles, tackle boxes, and plastic fish to your stage. Be sure to reach out to church members to borrow what is available in your community.
