Sunday mornings are like game day for children’s ministry. Just like any good coach, gather your team of volunteers for a pre-game pep talk. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion to kick the morning off:
The parents in your ministry will LOVE this week’s Bottom Line: don’t wait for someone else to do what needs to be done. Nehemiah didn’t wait. He left his home and his job when he didn’t have to because he was burdened to DO something. Nobody looked at that broken down wall and said, “this is Nehemiah’s job to fix.” But PLENTY of people looked at it and either thought the task was too big or they weren’t the right person for the job. Nehemiah didn’t wait for someone else to step up. Let’s teach our kids to stop wondering whose job it is and to get busy doing the job themselves. [Bottom Line] Don’t wait for someone else to do what needs to be done.
