Sunday mornings are like game day for children’s ministry. Just like any good coach, gather your team of volunteers for a pre-game pep talk. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion to kick the morning off:
Think back for a minute to a time when you felt lost or unsure. Maybe it was your first semester of college, or after graduation when you faced the “real” world. Maybe it was losing a parent or a failed marriage. When life seems uncertain, our tendency is to focus our what we’re feeling over what we know is true. We feel alone. Abandoned. Lost. So we tell ourselves we really are alone, abandoned and lost. But that’s not what Joseph did. When he had every reason to feel alone, Joseph trusted that God was with him. What if you took a cue from Joseph? What if even in the most difficult, scary or uncertain circumstance, you trusted that God was with you? It could change everything. God is faithful and He never changes. You can place all your trust in Him no matter what happens. You have the privilege of sharing this truth with your few this week (so maybe repeat it to yourself a few times too) – [Bottom Line] when you think you’re alone, you can trust God is with you.
