Sunday mornings are like game day for children’s ministry. Just like any good coach, gather your team of volunteers for a pre-game pep talk. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion to kick the morning off:
When Jesus had completed his mission and returned to heaven, He gave his followers a promise to send His Spirit as a helper. As believers in Jesus, God has given us His Spirit to guide us, strengthen us and help us to follow Him. As adults, we certainly recognize when we need the Holy Spirit’s help. For kids, this may be a completely new concept. As you talk to your kids this week, ask them to think about the last time they had a choice to make between doing the wise thing or the not so wise thing. Did they hear a still small voice nudging them towards the wise choice? This is God’s Spirit working them to lead and guide them. As they grow in their relationship with God, they’ll become more and more aware of the Holy Spirit working in and through them. What a relief to know that we are not on our own when it comes to following God. You can persevere and [Bottom Line] keep going because God is with you.
