Sunday mornings are like game day for children’s ministry. Just like any good coach, gather your team of volunteers for a pre-game pep talk. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion to kick the morning off:
Birds and flowers. When was the last time you stopped to smell a flower or study a bird pecking at the ground? They don’t worry. Because they’re birds. And flowers. Worry is a BIG problem because eace and worry cannot coexist. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6 that when we start to worry, it means that we’ve misplaced our trust. We’re relying on our own strength instead of trusting God. Peace IS possible when we remember that God’s in control and we’re NOT. What a relief. [Bottom Line] You can have peace because God is in control.
