Sunday mornings are like game day for children’s ministry. Just like any good coach, gather your team of volunteers for a pre-game pep talk. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion to kick the morning off:
This week, we’ll talk about how the story of Jesus is for everybody. Not just the Jews – like some in Paul’s day were insisting. Not just for those we might categorize as “good people.” Thanks heavens it’s not just for Billy Graham and Mother Teresa. The story of Jesus is for the thief on the cross, and the guy who once hunted down Christians. It’s for the rich and the poor. For the connected and those on the fringes. It’s for the kid in your group that comes every week and answers every question. And it’s for the kid that you just can’t connect with, that seems like he’s never listening. Jesus died for ALL. And His resurrection brought life to everyone person who believes. The story of Jesus is for YOU. The story of Jesus is for everybody.
