Sunday mornings are like game day for children’s ministry. Just like any good coach, gather your team of volunteers for a pre-game pep talk. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion to kick the morning off:
Remember the song “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from Toy Story? The lyrics remind us about what it means to be a faithful friend – “You’ve got a friend in me. You’ve got troubles, I’ve got ‘em too. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you. We stick together, we see it through cause you’ve got a friend in me.” That’s exactly what faithfulness looks like – sticking with someone through the good and bad. But God takes faithfulness to a whole other level. He will never leave or forsake us. Let’s remind our few this week that when we place our trust in Jesus, his Spirt will power up the faithfulness in us so that we can be someone that others can count on.
