Sunday mornings are like game day for children’s ministry. Just like any good coach, gather your team of volunteers for a pre-game pep talk. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion to kick the morning off:
Has someone ever broken a promise to you? Have you ever broken a promise to someone else? Sometimes when we read, “God always keeps His promises” we have a tendency to diminish that truth or to gloss it over and move on. But stop yourself for just a second and think about the fact that God always keeps his promises. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He cannot be anyone other than himself. He IS faithful which means it’s impossible for Him to be unfaithful. He is good, which means it’s impossible for him to be evil. He is both a promise maker and a promise keeper. He sent Jesus on that first Christmas so long ago as proof of that. You can have joy because God keeps His promises.
