Sunday mornings are like game day for children’s ministry. Just like any good coach, gather your team of volunteers for a pre-game pep talk. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion to kick the morning off:
Have you ever waited and waited and waited for something? Did you pray over it? Did you wait with patience or not? The story of Hannah and her desire to be a mother gives us such a clear picture of how God longs for us to wait. Hannah prayed. God comforted her in her sadness. And there is no doubt that those years of waiting made her so very thankful for the day that God answered those prayers. As you sit down with your kids this week, ask God to help you communicate this idea to them. Waiting produces a deeper faith and trust. When we choose to invite God into the waiting and we acknowledge his control and sovereignty, then He can work His good and perfect will in us. Let’s remember that when you think you can’t wait, to talk to God about it.
