Social Media Plan for Elementary Parents starting November 25

Racking your brain for a way to provoke meaningful conversations between parents and their elementary kids in less than 140 characters? Well, rack no more!

Below, you will find everything you need to cue parents this week through every major social media outlet from Twitter to Pinterest (so you can focus your brain power on posting the really important stuff—like that picture you just took of your cat carving the turkey). And if you missed our first post explaining what all this is, take a second to get up to speed by clicking here!

If Pampers and Goldfish are more your speed, check out our First Look blog for the social media plan to connect parents with preschoolers: http://orangeblogs.org/firstlook

Or if you are surrounded by boy bands and learners permits, try our social media plan for connecting parents and students at: http://orangeblogs.org/xp3students

This week we are supplying you with 6 tweets, 3 Facebook posts with Facebook Timeline photos, 2 pictures for Instagram, and 2 articles to pin on Pinterest. Feel free to use these posts however you wish. Want to get a little crazy and swap Monday’s tweet with Wednesday’s? Go right ahead! Feel like posting a different picture to Instagram? We don’t mind! You can simply copy and paste the words below or add a little flare of your own to any and all posts. These posts should start going out on Monday November 25th and follow this social media plan. If you have any questions, suggestions for content or an exceptionally cute picture of your cat, please share in the comment section below this post. Until next week, Happy Tweeting!

Twitter:

  • Monday: Part of being wise means seeing danger ahead and doing something about it!
  • Tuesday:   At dinner ask:  What is something you could do, or we could do as a family, to encourage ourselves to stop, think and pray before we leap?
  • Wednesday: Making the wise choice requires a little forward thinking. http://orangeparents.org/one-question-every-parent-should-ask-themselves/
  • Thursday: At bedtime tonight, read about a young king who made the wise choice to trust in God. 2 Kings 22:1-23:3
  • Friday:  Out of town this weekend? Stay connected through Studio252Live.com! Sunday at 10 am, 1 pm & 5 pm (ET) on your computer or mobile device

  • Thursday: This week, get one or two or twelve (or any number in between) of your closest friends or family and play a fun leaping game: leap frog! But make sure you keep your eyes open and look before you leap. One poorly placed pinecone could really put a damper on a fun afternoon. How to: Standing in a line, the person in front places his hands on his knees and squats all the way to the ground. The next person in line places his hands on the first person’s back and leaps over by straddling his legs wide on either side. Once in front, the second person then squats like the first. The third person in line then leaps over the backs of both players, squatting in front of them. Players continue leaping until everyone is squatting in a line. At this point, the first player to squat can take a turn leaping over everyone or all players can stand back in a line and start again.
