Sunday mornings are like game day for children’s ministry. Just like any good coach, gather your team of volunteers for a pre-game pep talk. Answer any questions about the curriculum and ask for prayer requests. Then read the following devotion to kick the morning off:
Hebrews 13:5 warns us not to be controlled by money but instead to be happy with what you have. How? By remembering that God is with you and that He will never leave you. The key is to remember that God loves you, that He has promised to provide for all your needs and that He can be trusted. Nothing we can put a price tag on will ever satisfy us the way He can. So let’s encourage our students to enjoy the things they have remembering that their stuff is secondary to relationships and that ONE relationship – their relationship to their heavenly Father – is the most important one of all. Because [Bottom Line] stuff can’t make you happy.
